Finally finished our basement developement, home theatre, and inwall tank. It's a Starfire 220g 48x36x30 with a 48x36x20 sump/fuge.
It replaces a 120 that was upstairs.

A slight miscalculation on the tank fitting down the stairs. The movers thought I was nuts when they said it's not going to fit down there and I told them it sure as hell is and grapped a crowbar and a saw. Oh well we wanted spindles there anyway.

Looks great! Who makes your filter sock holders? I can't quite see the label on it.

The socks and holders are from Ecosystems, the guys that make the mud refugiums.

Great set up.........

I use the same socks(they work great), almost the same set-up. Do you find that you are changing the back sock less than the front one? I hope you don't mind a little feedback  . I had my socks set up the same way and found one sock being used much more than the other. Here is a pick of how I fixed that. now I dont have to change them as often, and I get about 7-10 days out of them on my 120. How long do they last on yours? Just a thought.........

Great tank wish mine was inwall too.

Take care

Thanks Richard

Yeah I have same issue with the one sock getting dirtier than the other. I can't put the tee in the centre of them with the position of my 2" return. When the first ones dirty I swap them and when they are both dirty clean them both. 7-10 days sounds about the same as mine.

How are you cleaning yours? I've been putting mine in a front load washer on the sanitize cycle (no soap) and it's been working pretty well.

I sure like how they eliminate any bubbles in the sump.

Yup.....

In the washer no soap but a little bleach....full wash extra rinse......air dry

from the pic it looks lik you have more room than I did. Ill try to get a good shot of how I plumbed it and maybe it might work for you ......

Jim Barry and myself just brought in a hole bunch of extra socks(50) much cheeper than a pet store, check with him if you need some.
