I was at the Richmond night market (held in the parking lot of Landsdown shopping centre every weekend staring Friday evening) one of the booths was selling self ballasted standard screw-in socket type 6400k compact fluorescent lamps:

I felt like an adventure tonight so I drove to Bellingham and picked up a 65W lights of america compact flouro. Neat little thing. Quite bright. 13" long and seems built to fit snugly on the top frame of a 12" wide tank. Will wire it up and stick er on the refugium tomorrow smile.gif

Why does Bellingham (and indeed the states) always seem to smell musty. Very different smell down there than up here and it's only 50 miles away. Very odd.
