I've recently noticed that only in my sump and in my cheato there is a small infestation of bristle worms. Seeing as this is where pods usually grow and thrive, is there a possiblity that bristle worms are causing a decline in my pod poplulation?

If they are, how do I get rid of them? Can cheato be boiled? Or will a freshwater dip get most if not all the worms?

I'm also going to be cutting down the amount that I've been feeding lately, but what else can I do to keep any remaning populations under control assuming I can't kill them all with the above methods.

fresh water dip for your cheato should be fine. I've done it and the dip had no effect on the cheato.

Should get the worms though.

good luck

Yup, Callum's right. I just did a fw dip on my chaeto ball & it washed out all the bristleworms & I've never had any problem with chaeto & fw.

Did you guys use hot water? Or just regular room temperature ro/di?

Cold or warm tap water. Chaeto is pretty hardy stuff.
