Here's my hi-fin-shrimp-goby and pistol-shrimp pair. If you didnt know, these guys live together in a relationship on par with the clownfish/anenome bond. They both live in a burrow which the pistol shrimp digs, and in order to pay for his 'rent' the shrimp goby will stand watch at the entrance. The shrimp is nearly blind, so when the shrimp comes out he keeps one antennae on the goby, and if the goby runs for cover then the shrimp does too.

And I got these guys seperately, and they paired up on thier own in the tank! (Ive heard it couldnt be done!)

Anyways, heres some pics.

Most shrimp gobies and pistol shrimp will pair up after a certain amount of time. It depends on the shrimp. Not all pistol shrimps are Goby friendly. So I found out the hard way.

Great Pics.

Big Als has some Randals shrimp gobies and pistol shrimp pairs.

Great pics & cool pair Diana. You rock! Now you've started the "great shrimp/goby hunt of '05" I think I'll have to set up a nano tank just for them.

I have a pink spot gobie and a pistol as well. I got them seperately as well and they paired up immediatly after the pistol was introduced. Very cool

They are so much fun to watch. The pistol is so careful with his burrow design... constantly re-arranging and fixing. He sometimes seals up the entrance and uses the 'back door' for a while... then goes back to the front. And when I do a water change its fun to watch him fix his burrow that i messed up

I had been on the lookout for these guys for a decent price for ages! I ended up paying $30 for the pair.... which is better that anywhere else I'd seen.

Great pics baby! They are so fun to watch, i think aside for the clownfish in its anenome, they are the most interesting creatures in the tank.
