New 90 gallon tank. Eurobraced and missed the overflow height by about half an inch  But finally I am rid of the scratches. Its amazing!!!!

Nothing like hours and hours of bucketing water, aquascaping rock and collecting fish off the floor to remind you what a fun hobby this is

Oh and why doesn't the rock ever go back together the way you want it to? The bottom of the tank looks like a frag minefield because I have so few places to put them

What happened to the sea swirl?

Christy if ya want I have some different colours of vinyl you might want to try for a background...

Jack,

I can't mount the sea swirl on with the eurobracing. I guess I have to make some sort of attachment for it. I saw one on the sea swirl website that I'm going to model it after. Right now I just have some PVC plumbing on there to have the system working. Didn't you have a SS on eurobracing? How did you modify it??

Jim, I might be hitting you up for some vinyl. I was just going to buy some of that aquarium background but its such a PITA.

Christy :)

Very nice Christy !,

I want to see some more PVC though.

Ditto on the frags, i think you need to come for a visit...with a bucket `o those.

If you can show me the sizes, and how you want the swirl clamped, i can pop one together for you.

Marc.

Thanks Marc! You rock! But I beat you to it  I sort of copied the one off the sea swirl website. Seems to do the trick. Nothing like some spare time at work with a chunk of plexiglas and a bunsen burner  As you can see in the first picture there are some bubbly bits from where I wasn't paying attention (it takes a long time to get it to the point where its really bendy).

http://www.canreef.com/photopost/data/3001/28SSmod1.jpg

So I ended up making it a tight enough fit that it didn't need any screws to keep it in place (no I didn't plan that one ) although it did need a little chunk of acrylic to keep it moderately upright and not pointing down

Damn Christy, Good Job !

Those screws that are in there, Did you put those in ? or did you just line them up with original holes in the swirl and use longer screws?

Marc.

Marc,

I used the original screws and just lined them up. The screw really doesn't need to go that far into the sea swirl box as far as I could tell (unless there was something else inside for it to screw into, but I wasn't cracking it open to find out ) but it looked to me like it just screwed into the thin plastic encasing the motor. Anyway, the screws went in nice and tight. I only used 2 screws as the bend in the plexi didn't allow me to use the other two holes in the sea swirl box. The two screws were secure enough for me. Unless my regal tang gets up there and gives it the fin slapping of a lifetime I don't think its going anywhere

Christy :)

Sweet Christy,
Did you go form a 90 to a 90?

Looks great

Shane you crack me up.

You guys, geez. I'll go buy a hose clamp today. Its been running over a year without a hose clamp

Jason, yep I went from a 90 to a 90. The previous tank I had was scratched up pretty bad and I didn't like the centerbrace. This one is all shiny and new and is eurobraced. I could have gone to a bigger tank but then I would have had to get a new stand or modify the one I have and quite frankly that was too much effort
