K, the whole avatar thing is old, and in no way related to this thread. A PM would convey your thoughts to Marc, if you really need to say somethng.

Marc, maybe you need to set up a new farm now!!

Hey Marc, Yeah I wouldn't mind pulling a few out of the ol'systems myself. I'll have to go through some old cd's to find some shots of the farmin days. I'll see what I can come up with tomorrow. The shots you posted put a smile on my face just thinking about those days, it was kinda fun wasn't it.

OK here we go. Took about 8cd's to find some, which makes me think I should be working on orginizing my cd's instead of posting pictures. Ah this is more fun

Hey Colby, Thanks!! It was a good start but unfortunately Marc and I where busy with some other aspects of our lives. Both of us where buying new homes as well I was await the first addition in the family. Too boot we never really wanted to sell them as we had to much fun watching them grow.

That looks pretty cool.

If you have the time & inclination........ please describe your "farm" :)

I think it would make an interesting read.

Cheers,
Vic[veng68]

Hey Vic,

The system was a total of about 275 g.
The frag portion was a 90g shallow tank, lit with three 250w 10k ushio`s.
This was tied into a mother colony system wich consisted of 2-50g vats each lit with 400w 10k ushio`s.
It was all powered by a single 3/4 horse jacuzzi pump that also fed a dual beckett skimmer, and a reactor.
The sump was a 150g fiberglass tank, that we DIY`d to suit our purpose.
There was also a 12 g carlson surge for additional current.

Marc.

If you don't mind answering how come you guys shut this down. It looks like it was an awesome operation and the market is definately growing for SPS. You had some beautiful corals which I am sure are still living in some of the tanks around.

Hello Ruth,

We did have a load of fun with it, and it was beggining to produce some remarkable growth rates and colors, But Id have to refer you back to Jamies Reply, there was just too much going on in our lives to continue at that time...

Vic, OH i still got the itch alright, ..... But most of the time my wife just scratches it for me.

Steve, unfortunatley, I dont.

Marc.
