Mag 7s are mounted OUTSIDE of the tank. alternating on and off for 6hours at a time. PVC is 2 inch to minimized velocity but high flow.

Darren, I just had a thought (uh-oh, watch out! images/smiles/icon_smile.gif ) One thing that I didn't think about when we were discussing this idea was that MAG pumps don't do so hot when they're subjected to regular on-off cycles, so this may pose some problems for your proposed idea...I can't believe I hadn't thought of this earlier! images/smiles/icon_sad.gif

Hmm I wonder if they run the same as a MJet off current rather than voltage? I may try just ramping the voltage up and down.

hmmm damn..

Hi,

Do you have to prime your piping to make this work ? I am not sure if Mags can pump air.

Gonna have the pumps below the water level of the tank. Even when shut off.

Even if the pumps were above the water level, as long as both the intake pipes and outlet pipes remain submerged after an initial priming, water would remain in the line. Thus, in the event of a power outage there would be no need to be concerned about the pumps running dry.
