Anyone using an Eheim 2028?

Hello my freshwater brothers and sisters.:razz:

I have an Eheim 2128 Pro II (the heater and digital control model) that I will gladly trade stright across for a 2028 (the base model). I am using the filter on a 2gal tank and the built-in heater is waaay too big for my purposes, so I won't use it and the wires will just be in the way.
The filter is about 5 months old and in great shape. The push to prime is kinda slow to come back up but this is my first one so I don't know what is normal. Or we could even just swap the bottom, cannister halves and keep our own top, motor halves...

I have the 2026 ProII model. I would have thought that the 2028 has too much flow for a 2g nano. :eek: I used mine on a 100g. Really love the Eheim filter.

Haha yes, your right. I am using an eheim 2222 right now and it still puts out about 40x's turnover. I figured out today though that I can slide the little blades from my 2222 impellor onto the 2128's impellor. I am expecting to get the same output - just with an increased volume capacity.

I have a 2028, I would love to trade for a 2128 but the logistics of swapping filters across provinces makes this impractical.

Thank you for the offer. Unfortunately, the 2213 doesn't give me a lot of added space over my 2222. If my plans change and it becomes possible, I will let you know.

Ya, that is true - you would have to stop your filtration for the switch, there is mailing costs, and no opportunity to look it over first.

On the other hand - I still have the 2222 running, so my system will be fine. If you wanted, I can mail you the bottom half of the 2128 (which has the heating element, probe, and thermo controler). Once you get it, if you like it, you can swap it with the bottom of your cannister filter and mail that one to me. If you don't like it, you could always send it back too. If we kept our own motors and media baskets it would probably keep shipping pretty cheap. Obviously, one in Calgary would work best for me but it is something to consider...
