Howdy everyone,

Just wondering what I can have for conches in my 75g(48x18" bottom)? Would a Zebra Conch and a Red-Foot Conch be ok(want to get some from J&L)? More? Only one?

http://www.jlaquatics.com/static/livestock/noteworthy.htm (the ones on this page)

Thanks!

Cheers,

Chris

I had two in a tank of the same footprint... I think the rule is one for every two feet of aquarium

Kinda, the guideline is 1 fighting conch for each 2 sq^ft of exposed sand bed.

other conchs (which are bigger) are going to have different requirements and food sources. I highly suggest researching the type of conch you are looking at then making a decision on weather you can house it or not.

I did a quick search on the red foot conch (Opeatostoma pseudodon)
and came up with this "The striped Opeatostoma has a tooth on the outer lip which is used to pry open barnacles to eat. "

also "The Red Footed Conch is an omnivore and will also consume detritus. Supply pieces of fresh fish and dried seaweed, as well as high quality frozen foods"

so makes me look like this might not be a good conch to have.
