Ok I found a Canadian fish store online that sales the 150W HQI MH setup (Light bulb, blast, and socket) for $119!!!

http://aquariacanada.com/osCommerce/product_info.php?cPath=1_74_90_94&products_id=1032

Now can some one tell me how come is so cheap? This same type of setup would be around $250 at J&L's

Where can I found a deal like this around Vancouver? Or any local stores carry the ARC product line?

Cheers

P.S: Does any one know some where with a lower price?

Its definetly for real, but you still need to mount the bulb somewhere and do some wiring.

It is for real, but I have heard that the ARC bulbs are garbage. I don't think you can get a decent quality setup much cheaper then J&L, unless you go DIY and buy just the ballast, build the reflectors, etc etc but even then you are going to be splitting hairs.

Just my .02.

Is there any reports on the ARC blast and bulb? Wiring and putting in a box or just mount it on the back of the stand won't be too hard.

I've been using a 250 mogul ARC bulb for almost a year now, and IMO they work fine. I can't speak for their DE bulbs though. Just because they don't ding the customer like every other bulb manufacturer out there, doesn't mean they don't have a good product. Aquaria.ca got a smokin deal on them wholesale, and thats why they're so cheap.

Take Danny's word over mine, I just heard they were quite dim...

On the web page it says they can come with 10,000K or 20,000k

I thought if I want to use only these bulbs the 20,000 will be too blue for me. I might have to buy a 14,000K bulb for it.

I called them today and they said that if any thing wrong with the blast they will replace it with in the warrenty time. The guy sounds friendly but I just want to find a local store that can this kit.

The bulb I'm running is a 250 watt 14K bulb on my own magnetic balast. The one I have now is very blue but I've noticed good growth. I might be upgrading to their 400 watt 10K soon, just because of the depth of my tank.

Like I said before I can't vouch for the DE bulbs and balasts that they come with. All of the people I've spoke with at Aquaria seem quite friendly and are willing to work with their customers.
