It's usually cheaper to get them at a commercial lighting distributor.

Do you have a Bartle and Gibson in Calgary? IIRC a 250W ballast was like $90...bare ballast of course.

Hey Scott, remember when Rona relamped the whole store?
All those lights were 400w tri voltage MH. 400w was a bit to much for what I wanted, but I should have taken the free one Mike was going to give me. When I finally decided I wanted one, they were all sent to some warehouse.

It isn't as hard as I thought it would be when I hooked mine up. There should be a wiring diagram right on the ballast when you get it.

you also need a box to put the ballast in, i picked up a metal electrical box for $16 at home depot.

i already had a nice blue 14k bulb. so no atinics.

ballast was 70 box 16, you can get a pendant from ikea for for $10, replace the mogul(socket) with a MH mogul. Moguls are cheap.

get your ballast at brite-lite.com, not sure if the have moguls. You could go to quick grow for moguls. both stores in NE calgary.
