ok my icecap ballast was working fine yesterday, then my roomie accidently turned it off, then on real fast, it flashed on a sec then went off, now it wont work.

so i opened it to check the fuse, the whole inside is coated with a tar/ rubber substance. How the hell do I find the fuse?? or get it off?

talk about bad timing, i just bought a LTA and i have no light now

please somebody help :frown:

did you check to see if the bulb is blown?

I don't think there are fuses in those icecap ballast. But if you turn it off and on right away, it will usually take about 10 to 15 mins to restart. Try
plugging the ballast back in and see it will restart.

If it is an electronic ballast, Icecap guarantees them for three years. Icecap also have a forum on RC. You could post a question there.

ya thats what i thought.

i have a spare ballast here, but it needs a new capacitor. might have to fix that, it least it isnt covered in 1/4" of tar like the icecap

i opened mine up, had no problems getting a replacment. One of them was actually ruined from water, my fault. they replaced no questions asked. For $15 to ship 2 ballasts, was worth it
