very nice! Are they difficult to keep? Do they need a tank of their own? What size will do?

Cheers

I will back up StirCrazys answers. You almost have to shoot them with a super-duper-high-powered-commando-rifle to kill them. . Unless you get a really sensative one. Do they need a tank of their own? I couldn't have put it any better than StirCrazy. What size will do? If you are meaning tank sizes small guys (3") can live in a 5 gallon. The larger ones like the Pecock Mantis (7") need a 20 gallon. GrimReefers is a great place. They eve have their own Mantis shrimp thread.

They have some links on their website too. They are really neat little guys. They watch you as much as you watch them. Hope that helps.

Beautiful mantis! I love the colours. do you know what species it is?

as for keeping a mantis in its own tank... if you keep it well fed, it probably wont bother chasing down anything hard to catch. Also a larger tank volume will help with the survival of your clean up crew/others. Oh, and smashers don't usually bother going after fish especially if they're fast like a damsel.
