I remember reading about this bar a while ago on this forum. I think they have "mermaids" hired to swim around in there while the bar's open at night.

I can't imagine trying to ship that thing anywhere. I hope it's a typo.

Could be, seeing as the seller is trying to pitch the tank for a strip joint

Wow! Well, if you think about it, $20 000 USD isn't THAT much for a tank that size.

Not bad but another $10000.00 for shipping I bet.

Just ship to the nearest border town & drive down with a big honking truck to pick it up. Wonder what duty would be on a used tank?

There wouldn't be duty on the tank, but you'd pay GST and PST on the value ... which would be a chunk of change.

Did that for my 375 gallon ... picked it up in Portland and drove it back.

That thing is insane, You would have to know a trucker just to have a trailer big enough to carry that thing. But if you had that you would be the envy of everyone on this site. The possibilities are endless with a tank that big.

Thats exactly what I've been looking for, I need to upgrad right now!

Seriously though, wouldn't it be great if the Calgary zoo project would keep their word and buy this thing? Its perfect for a zoo marine display project. Some one should email the mayor a pic of this tank.

There was some mension of a marine exhibit at the zoo when Bronco took office. He was supposably going to dedicate several million to zoo expansion. Weather or not this will actually happen is unclear. I'm still trying to find the mayor's email address.

It sure is over... guess who is a new proud owner of a 10,000g tank?

Just for fun I emailed the mayor with this link and the first link on Canreef regarding the zoo project. Basically asked him how things are going with that. I wonder if I'll even get a response?

I wouldn't hold my breath....

But who knows.. if you do, I doubt it will be a "personal" reply.
