There is this:

http://www.aqcraft.com/issue3.html

I searched RC for quite some time, I could find references to it, that's about it.

Sorry, Walter

This is the dreaded S-15 Report, it's come under a ton of criticism etc. The comparison is funded and the comparison is interpreted by the makers of the two favored salts.

Very few people take this report as gospel. Stick with what works and you'll do fine.

It's not the S-15, there was a salt comparison. I remember it well from RAMR. I shall search my memory.

Yes, Craig Bingman of course...

Good question. You should post a message there and ask. So far, no data has been seen. There was talk about closure there (even if no tests were performed and no results are ever produced).

WOW what an eye opener, that sure supports the S15 report. I'd like to see more links if anyone has them.

King Ed always has Bio Sea but I'm not sure about the Marine Mix. So this study does NOT support the S-15 report in the least bit, I made a mistake and confused Marine Mix with Marine Environment.

Ok here is a dumb question.

Who makes the best salt?

Nemo, it depends on what you read and what the author has to say about stuff. If you read the S-15 Report then Marine Environment is the best, if you live on the east coast it would seem Tropic Marin is the favoured salt. If you read the link above then Marine Mix is the best.

I guess it depends on what you like to use. If you believe in your salt I think it's the best salt you can use. I used to swear by Kent salt (manufactered for Kent by Instand Ocean) it was always consistant and mixed up easy. When I changed to IO salt I didn't notice any decrease in health etc and it worked for me just fine.

Don't be so to quick switch salt guys. I tried switching to Crystal Sea and it caused me a lot of problems. If you search on RC, you'll see huge threads with pictures of people who lost Acros and other things after switching to that salt. I don't know if a reason was ever found but the majority of people who switched had to switch back. Perhaps Crystal Sea has changed their formula by now. But maybe not.

Among killing Acros, other things that happened to me and other people were that Coraline algae receded. I think Brad Reef_Raf experimented as well and ended up using the rest of his salt for de-icing his icy driveway.
