Anyone else read the NG magazine this month? There is an interesting article on colour and light in coral reefs. There is a bit of info on the web site too. Interesting stuff, and great photos.

One interesting fact: apparently the Mantis shrimp can see 16 different light spectrums including UV and polarized. It has the most complex eyes of any animal. :eek: No wonder they are so hard to catch when the come as hitchhikers :evil: :lol:

Great pictures, but I found it kind of lacking in detail. I also thought the mantis was the most interesting part.

The June issue has a nifty article dedicated to convict "blennies", Pholidichthys leucotaenia.

Yeah, I quite enjoyed that article. Had no idea the common, overlooked fish in the LFS was so interesting in the wild. Great shot of the juveniles diving into their cave.
