I'm looking for a cheap photometer/PAR meter to use for my tanks. I've got such a mishmash of lighting configurations in all my tanks that I'd like to get some indication of what my actual light output is. Problem is, my finds online have been several hundred dollars, and for such a simple, one-time experiment, it's definitely not worth all that money.
Can anybody point me to an inexpensive meter (or a good discussion on them) either in the lower mainland or via mail order? It would of course have to be either submersible (do they even exist??) or have a submersible probe.
Or barring that, anybody in the lower mainland have one they'd be willing to loan me for a few days?

Thanks

That is a LUX meter. Not a PAR meter.

Two completely different animals
