View Full Version : my brain has turned colors.. is this bad?

Well, having taken a shot just a few minutes ago of my brain... (the new shot is misleading.. it's not THAT light in color) and noticed that the color has totally changed... here's what I mean.

but honestly.. is this bad? (picture is misleading) very misleading actually.. too light.. but nonetheless, it has changed... why does this happen?

How long have you had it? Corals will often change colours as a reaction to changing light/water quality conditions. Usually it is because the light is stronger or weaker than what it had been under before. For instance, red brains will bleach out or fade under bright lights. I don't think it is a bad thing, just the coral doing its thing.

Thanks.. the lighting has not changed.. but it has gone through some stress while changing substrates. That could have been what did it ? Or maybe it's just doin it's thing haha

It looks to have a tinge of green in it. I would say its a good thing because its most likely zooanthalae algae. Does it glow green under actinics?

danny, it doesn't really glow under actinic. the color is really a nice deep purple like the first shot.
