I have to hold some corals and a clam for someone for 24 hours (shipment arriving tonight and they are picking it up tomorrow from me).

If I keep the corals in their shipping bag and float them in my sump, will they be OK, or should I put them loose into my aquarium? Floating the bags in the sump will keep the temperature OK but the oxygen might run out, on the other hand putting them loose in my aquarium means the corals get exposed to changing water conditions.

Please advise me, the shipment arrives in 1 hour.

Hi,

I would try to float in your sump with the bags open - If you have a ledge weight the bags down or alternatively place them on top of something that is in your sump.
Remember that many corals are freighted for a number of days - I would just try to minimize fluctuations in temp.
