Thought I'd post some updated pics of the tank. Things are looking pretty good and everyone is happy. MH lighting coming in early next month should make everyone even happier. Locline directionals will be added to the returns from the new sump (see website for construction pics) early next month as well (need Vancouver trip for parts drool drool)

absoluty love the boat where you get it and how much. You never see "ordiments" in reef tanks (i haven't anyways) but that i'm likin do you have stuff growing on it too?? Anyway look great.

Looookin' Gooood Gerald,
That is probably the best and ( least tacky) ceramic decor, I have ever seen. It should get better and better the more that encrusts and grows on and in it.

Gotta love the ship. I have always liked different ornamentals like that.

Thanks for the comments. I originaly bought the ship for my FW tank cost was 69.95 per 1/2 but he gave me a deal at $100.00 for the whole. Then I decided to go SW instead and wasn't sure if it would look ok. I thought it would be too tacky. But its urned out great. I love it. The fish and critters like it too. My Lawnmower blennie pops in and out of the hole and swims around inside. The shrimp wander through it all the time. It looked out of place at first but now as things are starting to grow on it, it really is begining to look like part of the 'reef'. Coralline has taken hold in a few spots and will soon cover much of it and I pout some polyps on it which have attached. The Aft Cabin has a tiny (finger sized) Hammer coral on top which hopefully will soon attach and then envelope the top.

how long did it take the boat to cure?

how long did it take the boat to cure?

Its actually a plastic not ceramic and the tags said 100% FW AND SW safe. I still put it into the tub with hot water (which from my HW tank is set a close to boiling as I can) and then let it 'cure' in my tubs that still had my old water from curing my live rock for 2 weeks just to be safe. It does not seem to have had any adverse effects on anything.

A nice snowflake eel poking its head out of the ship would be really cool!
