View Full Version : Gauging interest: torch (Euphylia sp.) frags, Calgary

Need to make my torch colony a little smaller. Don't know how many frags to make. I could probably make up to a dozen.

So anyhow, please let me know if you're looking for a frag of a torch, so I can get an idea how many pieces to break it into. Thanks.

Will post pictures (of the mother colony) later if there is any interest in seeing pics. It's my old torch coral that was in Canadian Man's tank for about a year or so, recently came back into my custody.

Ok, so if I made say, 6 then I shouldn't have to worry about having too many torch frags littering my tanks without homes to go to. Cool. There's no rush but maybe the next time someone travels between Calgary and Edmonton, that person could ferry the frags to you guys or something like that.

I will probably make the frags this weekend unless there's demand for some sooner. Will put a new thread on when the deed is done!

Alan I'm thinking that it's maybe a little greener than shown in the picture. I don't really see reddish when I look at it (although I sure see it in the picture). Might have to look again.

It's the same "torchspawn" that was in Canadian Man's tank where the ocellaris where laying eggs.

Rich and to the others who asked .. I dunno about the price. Small piece $5 medium piece $10 perhaps??? Since I haven't fragged LPS in a long time (other than maybe candycane) I kind of thought I would see how it goes first before casting a price into stone.

Trades are always welcome too

PS. I would LOVE to find a wee little gorgonian frag some day..

Tony!

I already have a frogspawn in my 20g... but I am a big fan of these types of corals... and I'd be up for adding another to the tank!

Can you PM me when I can come by and pick up a frag.. and if possible, i'll pay 10-20 bucks for a frag.. you can chop me a nice sized frag if you need to get rid of it......

let me know!
Scott

Hey Tony, I'd be interested in a frag of that frogspawn too. Have you made the frags yet? I'd like to wait until May or I can pick it up sooner if need be.

well... apparantley Tony is lazy..... kidding of course. He had mentioned to me he has not gotten around to it yet... (theres always something that needs to be done...) anyways, he told me that he will be choppin em up soon! Just a FYI.

er .. ah .. yeah, I guess that about covers it.

Will frag it anyday now. Honest. I ended up working on my stand for my new tank and painting a mural in the baby's room all weekend, and didn't get to fragging the torch just yet. Also kind of had a birthday in there too...

I'll PM everyone who expressed an interest, when the deed is done. Sorry for the wait.

If its not too late, I'd be interested in a small frag as well if someone is doing a trip to Edmonton.
