Well As some of you know I have a morish Idol that eats. He eat like mad. He eats everything I feed to him! I have had him for a few months now with no issues. He has even put on some tummy since I got him. bit of a potbelly now.
A couple weeks ago I got in some killer zoo's to add to my zoo collection. They cost a pretty penny and are amazing colors. He has been with zoo's since the first day I got him. three days ago he changed his mind. In the past 3 days he has eaten over 300 heads of zoo's. I thought I had the zoo eating nudi's but I was worg. I tried to catch him last night in the 180lbs of caves but with no luck. Tonight I guess I get to break down the tank and get him out.
seems he like red and purple zoo's more than blues and greens. I will take some pics and post the before and afters. Anyway just wanted to vent a bit.

Sorry to hear about your trials..... They may regenerate, as long as there is a bit of tissue left on the rock. Mine have come back when I though there was no chance. It took a while but they came back..

yeah I know they will come back. Its just a ****er watching $500 worth of zoo's go into a belly. Most of the rocks have more than one color morph on it. I know
I have lost at least 8 color morph. The remaining will come back with force. Its more the ripping down of the tank I must do tonight thats a bummer. That and having to get rid of my favorite fish.
Another day in "As the Reef turns."

That's too bad that you weren't aware of that before.
It's actually a well known fact that polyps and coral are part of their diet. Certainly not one of the best reef fish. For me, I just gave up on the zoos.

Yeah I know emily. I normaly do alot of research on the items I put in my tank. sometimes now matter how much you read you make the bad choice :)
learning is the best part of the addiction! Anyway he will make someone a very fine fish. As long as they dont have anything thats on his new menu :)
Too bad they don't prefer the minty stuff like gsp
Yeah, they love Zoos, Moons, Hydnophora's and Candycanes. If I had a big tank, I'd keep the MI and get rid of the Zoos, Moons, Hydnophoras, and Candycanes. A tank with a MI that lives for years is impressive.
Put the Zoos in a Nano.
I'll take him off your hands if you want =)

Im glad he is a total pig it made him very easy to catch. I cut the top off a pop bottle and put his nori on the clip in side it at the bottm. after 20 minutes of standing there with the net in the water he slipped in for a nibble. I swooped the net of the end and into the refugium he went!
he is on his way to his new home tonight!!!

well the camera is in edmonton with my wife so I cant show any pics. here is a count of the loss tho just to give a basic idea.
the entire purple zoo rock is gone, 200+ heads. over half of the other large rock is gone, 100 or so. 3/4 of the bright green ones, 80 or so. of my 2 rocks with the eagle eyes one had 20 heads one had 50 I now have 2 on one and one on the other. all but 4 of the real bright red ones there were over 100. 1/4 of the bright green centers. and all of the green on green, silver on red, orange on red, green on black, blue on green and others I have forgotten.
in total some 600 or so heads. he can really mow them down :)
he is now in a 300g fish only tank.
