Can I use this for a DE bulb without switching the bulb connectors? Also can I run double end bulbs off of a magnetic ballast?
Anyone have a closeup of a de fixture that shows the socket?

The halogen light sockets are different fromt the 70 - 150W DE or the 250-400W DE MH bulbs.

Also, you need a HQI or electronic ballast to fire DE bulbs.

With a dremel rotory tool you can shape the ceramic holders, wire in a new ballast and you're set. I believe it's the 500w Halogen unit that holds the larger DE tubes but again you need that rotary tool to shape the ceramic end pieces.

Doug

why wouldn't you just spend 15 bucks and mount a proper DE holder in there?

from what I understand the regent fixture is just a reflecter and bulb holder?
