The tank is going to be an SPS tank anyway so the last thing I need is mushrooms and polyps on the LR.
Anybody else have any ideas?

Just use base rock for most of your rock work, and only a bit of live rock. It all turns to live rock quickly enough anyways.

Why don't you use the Caribsea Reef Rocks? 50lbs is $74.95 at J&L. This works out to be approx $1.50/lb.

Does anybody have any live rock they don't need? Preferably without pests ;)
I'm on a tight budget for the next few months so I'm only asking for small amounts (10-15lbs) but I'm just going to slowly build up to 130+lbs. Unless someone is willing to front me a large amount of LR on a deposit and I'll pay you in installments (sounds crazy I know...but if you don't ask you'll never know smile.gif ). Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I have a big, very nice Tonga rock (the one
that is 7.45$ per pound at J&L) that I want to
get rid of. Give me a day to weight it so I
can tell you how much do I want for it, but it's
going to be cheep.

Try using Tufa rock as your base rock. You can purchase it at a local garden center. Cheap cheap, 30 cents a pound if I remember corretly.
I used 100 lbs in my tank. Now it is covered in coraline, as well as, lots of other living things. You will need to add some live rock to seed it though.
Hope that helps.
