Found a worm in my gf's tank and can't figure out what it is - anyone have any idea - when it comes out of the rock it seems to roll out from inside itself - then the mouth comes out then rolls back into itself once its done eating - thanks in advance

What does it eat? Strange looking thing  Good pics, though. Why not post the pics on RC in the Ask Dr. Ron forum for an ID? Let us know what you find out.

we saw it excrete what looked to be a tube of chewed up sand out of his home - he seems to eat on the algae and has so far only come out about 2 inches out of the rock so no idea how long he really is but is around a 1/4 inch wide. He is really cool to watch though rolling out of his hole  .

Looks like a form of "peanut worm".They are harmless, secrete a saliva to burrow through rock.

Man is that ugly. It does look harmless though, especially compared to bristleworms

Looks alot like a peanut worm to me as well, they are usually peanut shaped (go figure) and they can stretch way out while feeding. They can retreat really quick if they need to.
