I bought a lettue nudi about a month ago. It live for about a week. Then I found it as a clump of jelly, definately a dead nudi.

Well last night as I was pokng in around the tank, I spied what looked like a mini lettuce nudi. I poked at it with my finger and it crawled away. Woo whoo a baby nudi. After a bit more searching I found 4 more. I spied a total for 5 little nudis. They were small, no bigger than a capital lettter as I am typing now.

Cool... it wasn't quite $8 I wasted...

I had something similar happen, found my lettuce nudi in a power head that was a little to close to the rockwork, felt real bad. Then a week later I found a tiny little lettuce nudi, and then another one! They are growing really fast, probably doubled in size in a month. Haven't seen more then just the two.

I haven't found the lettuce type but rather the black ones with the white stripe on them. They grow pretty fast too, anyone know what they are called?

Right now nothing. They are only this big --> H
When they get bigger, I see a WTS in the for sale section.

Wow, thats awesome!

Hey for some reason I always thought Lettuce Nudibranch if they died would release toxic in the tank killing everything. After researching I'm surprised to find out they don't. I don't know why I stayed away from them all this time. Hmm...

The lettuce nudis won't release anything - I think there's a writeup in Reef Invertebrates about that. They aren't technically nudibranchs but actually sea slugs. I believe all true nudibranchs do let out some nasty stuff when they die.

Yeah thats cool....

I definiately gotta get one now. Very cool creatures, although read that they dont live longer than a year in captivity.

Anyone had one longer than this?

Uh no.
One is right beside the palys
second is to the right of the anthelia in the coraline
third is upper right just before the shadows
fourth and fifth just above the anthelia
