G'days DIY'ers.

Got a new tank, which as it turns out (some dummy shouldn't buy tanks when stoned on codeine) won't work for the intended purpose. So rather than deal with returns, and hauling it up out of the basement... I have been wanting to upgrade the predator tank. And this 65g would work nicely for that purpose.

I want to overflow it, much like Fish did on the 20g it will replace. But instead of cutting a notch in the top of the tank to feed the external overflow box could I drill some 3/8" holes, at 1" intervals along the trim line without compromising the structural integrity of the tank?

Solves two problems, first I don't particularly like the look of eggcrate on the back of the tank acting as a strainer. It also allows me to keep the top trim - which on this tank, I think actually serves a purpose.

Of course the question is, will I just be flirting with disaster?
