Hello all,

Well, I've made the tough decision to sell my tank....it's time right now. I'm sure down the road I'll get back into it, but for now it's not getting the attention it deserves.

I do not want to part it out.

So, the details...

130gal non drilled tank but has an overflow converter on it.
25 gal (?) sump
3 power heads (4th one died, but it's still here)
UV Sterilizer
protein skimmer - nothing fancy
2x400W Metal hallides
misc stuff too
LOTS of liverock
approx. 6 bags of sugar sized aragonite (sp?)

Stock:
1 tomato clown
2 Anthians
1 red corris wrasse
1 neon goby (cleans great!)
1 copperband butterfly - eats aptasia!
1 Blue mandarin Goby (my absolute fav!)
1 large black spiny urchin
1 green brittle starfish
misc snails - not many
misc hermits - not many
1 large bta (tomato loves it!)

I'm probably forgetting something....

Tank is 6 feet x foot and a half x foot and a half
wood stand
no canopy

I don't know how to post pics, so if you're interested email me and I can send you some. Please send enquiries to LBrecknock@Shaw.ca

This would have to be picked up as I don't have a truck.

Thanks,
Lindy

Hey Lindy,

Sorry to hear that my reef neighbor is getting out of the hobby! You're the only one within walking distance!

Anyway, I don't want to jack your thread, but I do have a quick question:
How many watts is the UV?

You know, I thought about asking what you'd charge to look after it for me....but I think it's just best to sell for now. I may have to pop over once in a while to get my fix!

The UV, honestly I'm not sure.....I forget.
It's from Aquarium Illusions

Lifeguard UV Sterilizer
Rainbow lifeguard aquatics
Model QL-25
Hope that helps.

You are welcome by any time you like! You haven't seen the new tank yet.

BTW the UV is 25W. If you need help breaking down the system or anything, let me know.

why don't you want to part? From what I've seen on this board a tank will sell quicker parted out. I saw three or four things on that list I would be interested in myself. Just curious

I don't want to get stuck with any leftovers.....and I think it would be a lot more work to part it out.

But, if I did....what would you be interested in?

mr_alberta
03-01-2005, 03:17 AM
I'd be interested in all of the snails...maybe the UV. How old is that UV bulb?

Sorry to hear that you're getting out of the hobby. Like you said though, I'm sure you'll get back into it eventually, the hobby is like a disease

What kind of return pump are you running?

Would you have any extra 400w bulbs kicking around?
I don't want you to part out the whole light package

Pisces

The bulb for the UV is maybe about 2 years old....as for the pump, I forget. I know its teal!

I'd have to dig it out and take a look.....but I can't right now.

mr_alberta
03-01-2005, 03:55 AM
Teal you say? Hmm, I guess Iwaki or old style Quiet One...if its an Iwaki, I might be interested as well

If Harvey doesn't buy out your entire tank, I may be interested in that return pump assuming its what I'm looking for.

For now, if you're parting out, I'd probably be interested in that neon goby. I've always thought they were neat. Maybe some hermits too.

I would be interested in the tank, some liverock and the anthias

mr_alberta

Don't worry Rich, I don't need anything else. I'm mainly looking for 1) more snails for my cleaning crew, 2) big pump for my skimmer.

If you're parting out, I would be interested in live rock and anthias. What type of anthias are they? Also have interest in the bubble-tip anemone. What colour is it?

Sorry for the delay in getting back to some of you.....I should be able to return some emails tonight.

Pisces

The bta is sort of the typical orangy-brown color.

I can send a pic if you like.

I'd still prefer to sell complete.....but if that doesn't happen....I may have that parting out party.

Pisces
03-03-2005, 04:53 AM
Forgot to mention....the copperband eats food too, but leaves my bta alone.

I've never seen my mandarin goby eat, but I've had him for years and I'm sure he's at least doubled in size. I love him.

One of the anthias only seems to like squid....but he pigs out on it when I throw it in the tank.

If anyone has ANY suggestion/thoughts as to what I should be asking for this as a complete setup.....please let me know. Just as a guideline. I gave out a few 'guess-timates' and I know I was high once I thought about it.....but I'm looking for a little honest help. :puppydog:

Hey Lindy,

What kind of powerheads do you have? I'm looking for a couple of Maxi-Jet 1200. I sold mine thinking I'd never use it, but here I am, looking for one again

I'm still trying to sell my tank as a complete setup.....so I'm going to hold off parting it out for a little while longer.

Edmonton Eskimo.....I replied to the emails I got and sent pics to those who asked for them. If I missed yours, or you had other questions please let me know. There was one I sent that got bounced back....maybe that was yours. I would appreciate it if you would contact me again rather than make rude comments.

Thanks.

I would be interested in the CCB if Bulletsworld doesn't want it. I have the same questions about the CCB as well.

Is the whole set up still for sale? If set it still up for sale mid-april we, KrazyKuch and I will consider taking the whole thing. I will PM you with a couple extra questions
