So, seeing as it is Oscar night, what's everyone's favorite movie (or one of your favorite)?
Having just watched Shawshank Redemption, I must say that it is up there on my favorite movie list. I'm also a big fan of Glory (civil war movie) and Forrest Gump.
Alright, enough about me, who's next

shawshank was good, so was super troopers,
but I like lord of the rings.
remember in super troopers: "hey man, you ate like $120 of mushrooms, did you know that?.....I'm gonna need that money back"

Shawshank Redemption - my all-time fav. movie along with LOTR.
Monty Pythons' The Meaning of Life - brings back great memories of good times with good friends
Independence Day - despite all the bad "press" it received, it's quite a fun movie to watch if you just suspend your "reality" hat at the door.
The Incredibles - 2nd half is excellent for a cartoon
Finding Nemo - not one of my fav. anymore because it's cost me over $5000 so far  but it's given me a new addiction

Good choices. Especially Dead Man. Hard to fail when you wrap Johnny Depp, William Blake, Neil Young and Jim Jarmusch into a western. Have you seen Fishing With John?
I also thought David Lynch did a fantastic job of translating a very detailed and involving plot from book to screen. Few directors would be able to do Herbert's story justice. Dune is a book and movie I have enjoyed many times.
A few other favorites that I can think of right now are The Shining, A Fistfull of Dollars, Donny Darko, Close Encounters, Reservoir Dogs, Airplane, The Big Lebowski, Clockwork Orange, Twelve Monkeys...
This thread could become very long...

Tough to say, as im a movie fanitic, I would have to say that this is my top 5(not counting tv show box sets in which case season 1-5 of the Sopranos would take it).
1)Casino
2)Scarface
3)Donnie Brasco
4)Good Fellas
5)Man on Fire
I could go on and on, as i list of the 100's of DVD's i have, but as you can tell im a bit of a mob fanatic. Whats everyone running for home theater systems right now?

I really enjoyed the first Matrix as well, but the last 2 dissapointed me greatly.
Grosse Point Blank was another movie I quite enjoy. Oh, and Snatch, that was a good one too.
