Any one have a picture of a mantis shrimp ( I hope that's the right spelling). The ones that make the clicking noise at night.

hmm, I always thought they were one of the nicest looking creatures I've seen in the hobby. A large peacock mantis is just stunning! They will of course kill naything they can get at, but certainly not ugly!

A large peacock mantis is just stunning!

I'll second that!

If I came across a Peacock mantis, I'd have to set up a tank to suit it.

Just a thought about keepinga Mantis. If you had a large display tank and added a smaller (say 33Gal) to kepe some Mantis in. Could you run plumbing (overflow) between the 2 as to share the sump etc etc. Or would the Mantis (or its young) eventually find a way from one tank to the next through the piping....?

You would need to block off the passage between the two tanks or you would get the mantis wandering. Very inquisitive little things.

I did the same thing for a year, easy to block them off.

Find the rock he hides in and then flush him out using carbonated water. Should work. Unless you can't get the rock out without tearing down your system.

Good luck.

Your local fish store should have a mantis shrimp trap for sale. Traps even come with bait for the buggers.
