It's not as deep as it looks. It started out only about 1-2" but the damsel has recently decided to build mountains at the front of the tank .
This tank has been set up for 4 yrs and there has been no problems so far

Hey Marie, I while ago I asked you about the Figi leather, good to see its doing well. Does your grow fast? My frag has good polyp extension but isn't much bigger than the day I bought it.

I wouldn't say it is a fast grower, but it has grown quite a bit in the last 4 months

Wow, someone who picks a theme for her tank & sticks with it  Nice Softies tank Marie. I used to live/work up in PR (Powell River to non-res.) at the fish farm on Lois Lake, so I know how hard it must have been to get some nice specimens. I go up once or twice a year so pm me if you need me to bring you up something.

The FIJI looks incredible ! Can you give some details about its care/environment ? I have one but it doesn't look like that at all... :frown:

Yes, please help Deb with some advice on her yellow Fiji leather too, so I can get a frag some day, when its big and healthy and overgrowing her system...

Before i could reply, i had to haul the test kits out to test the water. I haven't tested any parameters in this tank for at least 6 mths
s.g. 1.026
amm. and nitrites 0
nitrates less then 5
phos. undetectable
alk. 6.5 dkh(oops)
calcium 380
48"x12"x18" tank, It's about 4" below the surface under 440w vho light, 2maxijet 900s and 1 maxi 1200, a flame angel that can't resist picking at the polyps, kalk dripped every other day, feed flake, mysis and freeze dried cyclopeeze. I have seen it catch cyclopeeze on a regular basis but i don't know if it actually eats it or not  Am i forgetting anything?

I forgot to mention the bak pak skimmer and the 5g water change every 2 weeks

I also forgot to mention biolife phytoplankton and since xmas, biolife coralplankton
