I got an E-mail from MACO today, that contained a link to Sanjay Joshi's
collective lighting research:
http://www.reeflightinginfo.arvixe.com/
I have learned a lot from these articles, and I recommend that any reefer
check out details of their own lighting ,for possible tweaks and adjustments or to compare types and sizes before you purchase that new mega watt set-up.
Lots of data, enjoy!..(.And a must if you ever want to argue lighting with Steve )

Yes, we've been arguing about the data on that website now for 3 pages.

John a lot of the data is subject to argument on that page, some of the way things were done leave a lot to speculation and weather results would be the same in Real time situations is unknown.

I personally thing measuring lights in air is misleading and pretty much a waist of time as a lot of bulbs that would be way different in the tank will be similar in air, this is why when we cut tubing for reactors and skimmers in the near future we are also cutting an extra tube to make a light measurement jig so I can measure through water with out using my tank. This will allow me to use different ballast/bulb combinations in the garage instead of ripping my tank apart for a short test.
