I can report that the 2" Australian Stripey I added to the tank 4 weeks ago has decimated the population of aiptasia. This is an absolutely outstanding fish!

That's awesome!
I'm on the fence for trying one...
-not quite at my price point for a "let's try and see" fish
-they get fairly large (reminding me of my cool rabbit fish which got huge fast and turned into a eating and crapping machine
-reef safe concerns
Great that it decimates aiptasia, let us know how it behaves in the reef!
Good with shrimp/snails?
Read they may have an appetite for LPS, but what about softies? (zoas, cloves, things remotely resembling aiptasia)

So now that you've had this guy a few months, what's the verdict, reef safe?

Doesn't look like he's touched anything else.

Where did you get the Stripey from? I've been thinking about getting one for the last little while. Thanks.

Hey,
Could you clarify what you mean...
after it wipes out the aiptasia, what are you saying it likes to eat?
All my fish love frozen so I make up pe Mysis bio pure Mysis green brine brown brine ocean plankton krill and melt then when I feed my fish he’s the first hog o the trough and not to worry as u still won’t find aptasia. Healthy hands on fish

Thanks. I too feed mainly frozen. Similar to you, minus the krill.
Do you chop the krill up? I found it too big.
Anyhow, J&L got a shipment of small stripeys. I may just have to try one.
Ya I chop up big ones but only feed those once or twice a week but the little blister packs are small perfect
