So, apparently PinPoint came out with a calcium monitor. Looks interesting but at $250USD, the price seems kinda steep. Anyone have a chance to take a look at one yet? Anyone planning on getting one?

I can't seem to find any info at their own website, http://www.americanmarineusa.com/

At that kind of coin, a person must really want to be able to track their Ca 24/7. I suppose there are folks who are just that concerned about it. To me I think maybe it would be more useful in tracking overall changes after an adjustment has been made.

If it doesn't track Alk at the same time though, then it's of limited viability. I want to track both .. one is meaningless without the other.

Sooo ... basically ... I don't think I'll be saving up for this one. $250USD buys me a LOT of test kits...

Well said Tony, just another toy if you want my opinion.
Any experienced aquarist will know when Ca levels are droping by natural factors within the reef. For example I know my Ca levels are good when the tips of both my digitata and birdsnest corals are a nice bright white, if they discolor and turn slightly grey then I know the level is dropping.
Toy's are fun however  , so I will wait and see what kind of features this new monitor provides.
