I recently purchased two fairly small percula clown fish. They were doing great and being quite chummy. Today I purchased an anemone for them which they both took to right away. They have not stopped fighting to push each other out since. They are concentrated on this completely ignoring food. I tried placing a mirror on the glass in front of them but this only created a brief distraction. I guess they will stop when the lights go out. Looking on line this seems to be not unusual . Any encouragement or suggestions appreciated.

Are they similar in size if so then they are fighting for dominance and if they don’t kill each other they will settle the issue shortly.

The fighting has mostly stopped. The one controls the centre and the other one hangs around the outside perimeter

Give them some time. Mine were similar - larger one hogged the anemone and the smaller guy hung around, at first banished quite far away but gradually allowed closer and closer until finally both are together.

They will usually sort it out in their own. If it is going sideways, it usually will happen pretty fast with no intervention and removal of one of the clowns.
