Aquascape Help

I can not for the life of me understand how people are building these effortless structures. I am having zero success with Aquaweld. I have an eel I would like to build a tank around so my plan is to have some pvc pipes as the base/labyrinth and then have a more open structure above for the corals and fish.

How are you getting your rocks to stick together????

Some of the reef forums recommend an epoxy they use for archeological specimens but its super expensive to order from the US and Ive now invested so much I dont want to chance that not working either.

My last aquascape was held together with Aquascape Milliput Epoxy. Worked really well dry but also worked when in the water. Never had any issues with it.

I bought thicker super glue and a spray for instant hardening

I had some crushed up dry rock powder and some small rubble and tiny rubble. I would glue rock together, throw some rock dust on it and then spray the glue with the instant adhesive, hold for 5-10 seconds and by then it was hard enough.

I wish I had gone back and added some epoxy/reef cement for reinforcement. I had 2 pieces break off moving the rock from the cycling tank to the final tank. It was a lot heavier with it being in the water.

Try using acrylic rods. Holes can be drilled into the rock, and rods can be placed inside to hold two pieces together.

What he said 👆. Only way to do it if you are dealing with an eel that is larger and could potentially bump rocks around...

For my new build I used acrylic rods and then I used dry sand and superglue.. once the superglue dry it’s strong, can’t break them apart
