I'm grabbing a ro/di unit from aqua-safe from here (http://stores.ebay.com/The-Aqua-Safe-Pure-Water-Shop_W0QQsspagenameZl4QQtZkm). Since I'm already going to order some other stuff for someone else, anyone else want in on this to save on shipping?

Hey Rich,

I'm using a couple of AquaSafe units right now (I use one myself and I hooked on up for my parents). So if you need help hooking the thing up, let me know.

I'm down for a box of DI cartriges. Can you get them for me and I'll pay you back when they get here?

do they have a non-e-bay website?

Just so you all know, if you want me to order this stuff for you, I will use the "buy it now" option.... rather than duke it out with other people to save a couple of bucks.

Stan - A little while ago I recall seeing the option to swap out the needle piercing valve for a hose or facuet adapter. I already contacted aqua-safe about it, and I'll tell you the results.

Please contact (either phone, pm, or a message here) me with exactly what you want. I will most likely place this order by the end of next week.

This is what I have so far:

Harvey - 1 box of DI cartridges
Stan - 1 ro/di unit (?)

Don't forget to get a TDS meter so you can see when it's time for filter changes and when the membrane is pooched.

pm sent...

Harvey, which one do you have? The price difference on most of his units aren't that much, which is the best one? What does that little extra tank do again?

I have the 100GPD "Home" use one which comes with the 2.8G (or something like that) resevoir as well as the faucet. Which one you get really depends on what you want to use it for. I got the home one because I also drink that water. If you only want it for your Reef, then get the one that doesn't include the storage water tank. It will take up much less room under your sink. The R/O storage tanks is about the same size as a propane tank.

Dez

Will the storage tank be beneficial in any way? I will not be mounting mine in the sink but rather in the basement where room will not be an issue.

thanks Harv.

Its good that there is a resevoir of R/O water for me since I drink the stuff. If you don't want to drink any of it, I really don't think you'll need one. Also, I like the fact that I know I have at least some R/O water if I need some in a pinch (this is insignificant on larger systems, but on a nano, it can come in quite handy).

According to the email, all assessories come with free shipping if a RO unit is bought. I will talk to Aquasafe and try to neogiate a better shipping rate since we're ordering multiple units.

Now that all products available to me is now out in the open, please respond to this thread or PM me what you want. I would like to put this order in asap.

I believe all prices are in USD.

Order will be made Wednesday (thats the 19th) afternoon. I noticed that they were selling units for less with extra goodies on ebay, so I'll twist their arms a bit. If anyone else wants in, or wants anything extra ordered, please notify me before Wednesday noon.

Aqua-safe has emailed me informing me that the units have been shipped. Hopefully I'll receive the boxes by early next week.

Also, for those of you who want the manual for your respective RO/DI units, please PM me. I don't believe the units will come with instructions, since Aqua-safe included them in the emails that they sent me.

I'm going to going through the boxes to make sure we got what we ordered. Still haven't gotten word from Dez about what they charged his CC, so billing will be delayed until Dez decides that he doesn't want to pay the entire bill himself

Just did a item count and everything matches up with the invoice... with just a small problem. In all the confusion, I forgot to order myself an ro/di unit!

So much for saving as much as possible in this order... hehehe.

For picking up your items, there are a few options. You can either come to my home, I can drop the stuff off at your home, or you can meet up with me in the Calgary meet. I am usually at the University in the evenings, so don't even consider coming to my home during week nights. Although if you want, we can arrage a pickup at the University. My classes end at 10am on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and I usually get home at around 11am. I usually leave for class at around 10am on Tuesday and Thursdays. For the people near my home, I can drop the stuff off for you if you want (Harvey, Dez, etc.). I will be heading up to the northside sometime soon, so I can drop off stuff to people who live up there sometime in the near future as well. PM me your preference

Hey Rich,

Can I just snag it off of you at the Calgary meet? Also, Dez is out of town until Saturday, so you won't hear from him probably until then (unless those Carribean cruises have internet now).

I was wondering how the ro/di units work does the waste water
go down the drain or back in the water pipe?

Down the drain it goes!

You can't put it back into another presurized pipe of any kind.(The rejection line from the ro membrane has to be free flowing.)

I guess you could water the garden or lawn with the brine if you wanted to.(Instead of just sending it down the drain.)

You're looking at about $166 for the full meal deal with shipping as far as I know. I'm surprised that your email has not been replied too. They seem to be very quick at replies.
