Hi guys , so my 10 inch naso tang has been eating like a pig for 8 months but seems thin . Pinched stomach no matter how much he eats . So I assume it's a internal parasite , has anyone had experience with using seachem focus in a reef tank with no negative side effects ? Got 2 anemones and sps and Lps. I want to save the hassle of catching him and quarantine because he might not eat if I do. He currently eats from my hand and makes it easy to target feed him meds . Any advice would be great https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190331/10dc0361553d2c2c0bc6fa4a2f7612a7.jpg

No experience with that product, but when you say hes been eating like a pig for 8 months, do you mean you've only had him for 8 months?

What kind of foods do you feed? And how often?
A tang that size needs to eat a TON of food to fatten up.
They are very active fish.

If you're sure it's getting enough food then yeah I'd try treating it.
Again, sorry no input re that medication.

I don't have my bottle handy but it's more of a binder, although it may have medicine in it I believe its to be used with medicine like metro or a general cure. I use it with metro in my quarantine tanks. I have read that it can be used in reef tanks but would advice turning off all flow so that the fish consume the food rather then it being blow around.

But he didnt eat for a month when I got him super scared and shy , but now eats and runs up against my hand and eats well. I have a unicorn tang too same size and hes plump and just as active. I feed them twice a day pellets with garlic and vitamins, and evening will be jumbo mysis with krill , garlic and vitamins

Thanks for the info.
Just have to ask these questions cuz someone saying they feed a lot could mean a lot of different things to dofferent people.

But having another large tang is a good gauge for comparison.

I know it doesn't really help, but from your info, for sure I would try and treat the Naso. Definitely sounds like something is off with it.
