Anemone quarantine

Please share your QT process with anemone purchases (including the substrate it’s attached to as more damage will be done in trying to remove it). Thanks for sharing.

Trying to get a newly acquired anemone to stay where you'd like it in your tank is hard enough. I've never heard of anyone putting one in quarantine. Is this something new or did someone tell you to do this?

Most people don't seem to care, but you can QT them to prevent transfer of ich or velvet. If attached to a substrate, 76 days for both. If the anemone by itself, not attached to anything or any rock rubble pieces, 21 days.

People normally quarantine magnificent, gigantea, hadonni and any other type of bacteria prone anemone in a 10 day cypro treatment. Common anemones like Condylactis, Sebae, Malu, BTA, Rock or tube don’t get quarantined.

A 10 gallon tank filled half way. Egg crate in a corner with a heater and power head. Put a coffee mug in upside down so the anemone can attach to it. Then treat with cyproflaxin. It will require daily water changes of 100%. No substrate to make it easier to clean.

No one suggested it I’m coming off a 3 month fallow period so was being paranoid.
I read about the 74 day QT but not about cipro treatment...apparently can use coral revive on anemones
