ok i will be running a single 250w SE, SA 20K over a 36 " tank now the actinics that i can run could be:
IC 660 on 2 x 36" URI VHO actinics. or
glomat 40 to run 2x 36" NO flouresants phillips overdriving them to 40 w each.

what would you guys do.

Hey mike,

Wouldn't this be better posted in the reef forum.
I think more people would see it and you would get more responses.

Mike,

With a 20000K bulb, I don't really think that you'll need actinics at all. I personally would switch to VHO actinics and a lower K bulb like 10000K.

I moved ya to the reef forum Mike.

I agree with Newguys post, but since you already have the 20K bulbs, which are already a blue colour, how about running one 50/50vho and one super actinic vho.

Or a pair of 50/50 vho bulbs as the main light for the day and just run the halide for a few hours.

Of course neither of these give you the actinic look in the evening unless you could get one normal actinic in there somewhere.

I still dont like running 30w bulbs on a 40w ballast, but thats me.

Then on the other hand, I have seen some tanks running 20K bulbs and super actinics only. They did look nice, but one has to like that type of colour.
