Ya I found a 140g with almost all the trimmings for 1100 so now I need to stock it when it is done cycling

I'm assuming you just got the tank in the last few days. Recommend you let it run for a while (at least a month if its newly set up) before adding even hardy soft corals. What do you have in terms of lighting & equipment & what are you looking for in terms of corals, so we'll know if we can help you out or not.

Make sure your parameters pass the tests before adding anything in & go slow. Saves time, stress, money & lives (of livestock). Research lots to have an idea of what you want vs what you can keep alive.

That 140g has been copper treated, I hope your plans are for a FISH ONLY tank.

Even crabs, snails and shrimp can't tolerate copper. Is this just a tank or did you get rock too? Live rock absorbs copper and you can never get rid of it :frown:

I cleaned everything out i did not use the sand or rock that came with the tank.
I was assured by the guys at J&L that if I put a power head in a bucket I could get rid of the copper in the rocks I have, but I played safe and did not use them at all.

I hope I have not been miss informed that it will stick with the tank as well.

I would wash/soak everything in vinegar first. Tank too. That should help, but I would really take it slow with corals, try some shrimp and crabs first. If they last a few months, then proceed.

Good to hear you tossed the rock and sand. That was my biggest concern.

Also use carbon, depending on the copper type, it can remove some too.
