Hi all,

I recently upgraded my Orbit IC LED to a quad t5ho fixture. I'm still using the Orbit as my supplement lighting for blue outside the t5 light schedule.

I went with the ATI "most popular" bulb setup and I don't know if I am liking how blue it is.. This setup consists of all AIT bulbs 3x Blue Plus and 1x Coral Plus. This is pictured in the first image. The second is with 2x ATI Blue Plus 1x Fluval Power Spectrum and 1x Fluval Actinic I. I think I might switch back to the ATI/Fluval setup.. thoughts?

I have never personally used a T5 fixture. That being said I’m sure the bulb combos will grow Coral. So IMO I would tune the bulbs to what you like visually as to enjoy viewing the tank.

If you don't like the blue look pull one of the Blue Plus and add in a second Coral Plus.
I run 2 Blue Plus 1 Coral Plus and 1 Actinic all ATI. But I also run 2 Hydra 26's between them, works out to about 12K ish with the LED program.

I like the 2nd pic.

I run 4x t5 from front to back ati bulbs - blue plus purple plus coral plus blue plus

That combo with my LED fixture running an AB+ schedule is really nice. Always hard to tell from pics but it would be closer to your 2nd pic than the first one.

I run Geisseman T5 lights (6 bulbs) and my current setup looks a lot like both tank shots my all day lights (2 actinic and 2 pink floral) and my lights for the first 4 hours look like the first shot then when my day lights kick in (2 aqua flora) my tank looks a lot like your bottom shot until an hour before lights out

I know didn’t answer your question but I get both light spectrums and in my tank at least the colour does pop out in both lighting conditions

The first setup is good if you are using the bulbs to supplement a strong LED or metal halide. Not sure if you would want to use 3 blue plus if there is not a strong white light you are supplementing.

I use 3 blue plus on my 4 bulb ati hybrid fixture but the LED's are the dominant light in that fixture. The strong blue only comes through on sundown and sunup.

I think you should go with whichever one you like more.

If I were you I'd stick with the ATI bulbs over the Fluval bulbs because there is more usable light coming out of the ATI bulb, and they both use the same amount of power. I'd suggest if you don't like how blue it is that you switch out one of the Blue Plus for an Aquablue Special.

Thanks, I think I will try the same as your setup.. take out the blue + and add a purple +.

Some suggest 2x blue+ and 2x coral+ but I think I want to see more reds from the purple+

any chance you have a pic of your setup with this lighting?
