Darren,

Skimmer on a 20...just do weekly 10% water changes -- which is what most nanos do. Gives your sister something to do every weekend images/smiles/icon_smile.gif BTW....its only 2 gal a week.

Then...build that skimmer for her Christmas present images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

My Remora worked good on my old 33g. The only problem is that you don't get any surface skimming action with the Rio 600 submersed. Also you will want to put a small section of 1/2" hose between the skimmer and pump to reduce vibration and sound. The new models even have the option for remote collection unit. Just need to figure out a surface skimmer system. I purchased a Fluval surface skimmer($15) I will it try when I set that tank back up after Christmas.

Thanks Victor....

That is just what she DOESN'T wasnt to hear. lol.. The it wouldn't hurt her. She just hates using her water purifier. Good call tho.

AND thanks for the idea for Christmas. images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Lee,

Thanks for the input. If she goes for a remora I'll keep that inmind. I can make a surface skimming box. She already has one that fits a RIO 800 in it. Thanks again.. images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Thanks, but.. I haven't heard a lot of good stuff about those skimmers.

Looking for something with a name I know in all honesty. HOT1, Remora, Berlin..

Sorry

I'll try to remember to bring it tomorrow. If you can fix it, it is yours. My idea was that it would work in a sump because if it leaked it would not be too big a deal. Down the road if I ever need another skimmer you can just buy me a bullet 3 and we'll call it even.
