Can anybody help me out.

What's the easiest way to take out my center brace on my 120g? It's 1/2" glass all around, even on the center brace.

Tank is empty by the way.

Ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Ah oh. Something is wrong when Jack is asking for help ;)

Use a sledge hammer, that should take it out pretty quick ;)

Do you have any euro bracing, or is it glued just to the top edge of the tank?

ok get some foam and put it inside your tank on the bottom and sides, then take a hammer and smash the brace in the middel and the two chunks will be able to be taken out with a lot of razor work.

As always, thanks for the replys.

I've had some 1/2" glass euro brace pieces cut for me... even though with a 1/2" 120g I don't think I need it.

Piano wire sounds the safest but I have a brick at home if that doesn't work.

I'll let you guys know if I broke my tank or not.

I get the glass tonight so I'll be installing the bracing then.

I wasn't able to get a guitar string into place with the thick plastic trim in the way so I'll try to cut it out tonight using an exacto blade.

After a few days of thinking I definatly don't want to try the hammer or brick technique just yet.

I'll take some pics for those who are interested. Is anyone having trouble uploading photos to the gallery? I was earlier.

Well after a few beer and failed attempts with trying to cut it out with razorblades, exacto-knifes and guitar strings I used a brick.

First 3 hits on the 1/2" glass made the brick bounce but the 4th did it.
