I finally got an inline TDS meter a couple weeks ago... the highest it's ever read on the IN is 6ppm, and it's always been 0 on OUT. Seems awfully low, I know we have great water but is that what most people are seeing? I'm in North Van.

Where is the inline installed? , my 75gpd BRS 5 stage has a built in TDS , and always reads 1 or 2 for the IN , and 0 for the out. Pretty sure where the TDS meter is installed , it's reading the IN ,after all the filters and membrane , and the out is reading after the DI resin. So I know with mine , it doesn't tell me what the water TDS from the tap is.

I'm in north Vancouver as well , I also have a hand held TDS meter , maybe I'll go measure the tap water to see.

I'm running a 4 stage vertex puratek with my IN reading directly out of the wall and OUT into the bucket :)

After what I read about other places in Canada and US it's good to know yours is the same, now I don't have to wonder. Most people seem lucky to get 6 after DI!

I am Coquitlam and tds is 11 in and usually 0 or 1 when the resin expires. Consider us lucky.

I'm in Surrey and got 14 of the tap, also use 6 stages filter and came out to 0... but I can tell for sure that Surrey put chlorine in the water can totally smell it.
Us with city water are very lucky.

Richmond here. I measure TDS with a handheld meter and it averages 12 TDS in (0 out of course). Some people in the US especially are flabbergasted when I tell them that.

I suspect the closer you are to the source (North Shore mountains), the lower the TDS IN is.

The other worthwhile note is there are no Metro Vancouver cities using chloramine for disinfection.

Wow is wish my TDS out of the tap would be that low.
I'm in Regina and my hand held meter reads a wopping 485 and coming out I'm at 0.03.

I'm in central burnaby south of brentwood mall. I think our water throughout most of the lower mainland is fairly equal regardless of how far we are from the watersheds.
I usually get between 5 and 10 in, and 0 out after just an RO membrane - no DI required here. Same membrane for 2 years now. I flush it well before each use until the output is 0 before filling my drum.

I'm in Cloverdale, my tap is 14, usually 0-1 after membrane but I use DI anyway. Waste water is 22 and I use it for my cichlid tank.
