I am in the process of trying out some new bulbs made by Sunpaq, and available from MOPS. They are dual element tubes with 18 karat gold contacts, and Philips filaments.
The first is a dual Actinic with 460 and 420 nm tubes. The first impression on this one is very good. It brings out the vibrant colours of my zoos. :biggrin:
The second one has dual 6700K and 10000K tubes. The colour is somewhat warmer than 10000K alone. When both tubes are lit the effect is very nice.
I took a measurement when the light first came on, and got 5000 LUX on the white one by itself. This will allow future measurements to to tell us how long this holds out. :biggrin:
The lamps are pricey at $50.00 per tube, but the dual actinic is impressive.
