I'm curious of your guys thoughts on dosers vs calcium reactors ?

I had a doser for a while which worked well. I'm have been using a calcium reactor for the past 4-5 months and overall it keeps things stable but have had some issues losing some sps in the past month or two. No idea if it's related

What's yours guys experience on the different forms of dosing?

I use 2 part doser, really like it , is simple and need very little adjustment, is costing more to run then a calcium reactor imo in the long run... just to clarify I use balling method ... my tank is only 105g. I think if in the future going for a bigger thank then I'll consider a calcium reactor , just because the cost to run 2 part dosing on a bigger tank can climb up fast

Any pics of the sps dying? Top to bottom or bottom up?

Larger systems, calcium reactor.
smaller systems, 2-3 part dosing is more efficient.

I personally prefer calcium reactor due to the trace elements you are adding along with the major elements.

Here are a few frags I added as test subject. They were dieing from the bottom. I fraged off some top chunks to try and save them

221G including sump but not aging tank, I use a Ca reactor and Kalkwasser in the ATO.

I ran 2 part for a couple of years on my 150 gal mixed reef. Switched to a Ca reactor last year and love it! Once you hit the sweet spot you don't need to touch it. The tank params are rock solid. There is a lot less fussing with solutions, pumps, lines, etc. I would never go back to dosing 2 part.

Overall it keeps all pretty stable. At least now that it's tuned. I seem to have to add a fair amount of magnesium and top off calcium once in a while
