Is this order for dry goods or live goods? I may be interested in doing a live goods order with you at a later date.

I may be interested in some livestock. When you are ready.
FYI... I was talking to the guys at illusions, I know it is really irrelevant to this post but... Ron said if we had enough people order salt at one time he could match or better J&L's price (dependant on how large an order ofcourse). And no, I'm not affiliated with the company, I just like a good deal too.

How many people would that require? I wonder if they could do the same for live goods....that would be awsome if they could.

If you want I'll get the specifics. Ron said it is all possible, when I last spoke with him. Like he said, live rock for example, he can give a much better price if he orders 600lbs from the supplier than say 300lbs. That savings, he said, can be passed onto the customer on a larger order.
Like I said if you are interested....

I'll be going there after work today. Maybe Ill ask Ron meself.

Hey Ryan,

See if you can ask Ron if he'd cut deals on cleaning crew stuff like snails and whatnot as well and how much we'd have to order in order to get this deal.

If we can get a large enough order from AI, I'm in for 100 trochus snails. Much rather support businesses locally and pick the animals up at my leisure rather than doing a pickup from someone's home the day the MO shipment comes in.

I'd be up for a salt order with AI, possibly some livestock too.

If nothing goes with AI, I'd be up for a livestock order from J&L!

Im in need of some salt in the next week, if we can cut a deal with AI that would be great. Maybe some 200 gallon pails.

Hey all,

I talked to Ron at AI today.
We would have to commit to buy a pallet of salt (24 pails) to get comparable pricing.
Also the cleanup crew order would have to be a minimum of 1000 peices.
He is going to check with his suppliers and see what kind of discount he could get and let me know.
Once I know I will post it here.

1000 pieces? Hmmm, I could use about 20 snails....who wants to buy the other 980?

Richer

Wow, 1000? I was only thinking about maybe a dozen snails... hehe  . I wonder if they can maybe give us a smaller discount if we get a smaller quantity? or if we can sub some other things in there other than snails, like shrimp?

I agree I could go for some shrimp, at least 20 hermits (red), and maybe some snails...

Does that 1000 pieces only involve snails and crabs? Or can we expand that to include snails, crabs, shrimp and fish? Is Ron actually on the board? Maybe we can get him to put a message on this thread? Actually, maybe we should start a new one and not hijack this one.

I don't think Ron has time to frequent the board very often. His last post in Vendor Announcements was back in June:

You might try PMing him when you get a new thread going, though, and he might respond publically.

True. But his last post was yesterday. He also says he checks the board almost everyday. I sent him a pm already so lets not all bombard him with questions...

And this topic in now back to JL orders only...
