How much do you want to spend and what do you want to grow?

IME the Kessils were the only LED that were blended well enough to look good in a tank, but they can be tricky to tweak.

Now I have found out that the best LED is a Metal Halide, easier to use, better results, less money.

"Saving money by going with LED" in this hobby is a bit of a misnomer for many reasons.

I know you didn't ask that, however not knowing where you are at in this hobby I thought i would throw that out there.

Oh OK.

Ya I got nothing to cover 36" well and be low power consumption.

Lots of people like those "Black Box" LEDs units. A pair of these would cover your tank, perhaps add a diffuse panels if the colour mixing is not up to your satisfaction.

You could probably get a pair for your budget if you look around, they are around $100 US a piece.

Now the only thing is these are 165w a piece, so that would be 330w for the pair. Of course you can which should reduce power consumption to some degree.

You mean the "Orbit Marine Pro"?

Looks like a great light for the money, gives you the coverage and has a controller.
