Looking for an proven accurate Hydrometer (float type) or refractometer.

My first hydrometer worked great but I broke it. Sea Chem Box type.
My Coralife hydrometer is 5 ppt low so my salinity ended up at about 37ppt.

Also in need of a reliable in sump protien skimmer rated up to 90 gallons. I sick of my crappy Sea Clone.

Just calibrate yours against a refractometer

I tried, the damn thing isn't constant either!

37 ppt is not the worst thing that could happen ... most oceans are in the 35 to 36 ppt range anyway ... most reefkeepers keep their tanks too low IMO ... there have been a couple refractometers for sale in the buy & sell lately.

I'm interested. What about a pump? I've heard they are pretty power hungry, so what would be the recommended pump flow? There was a guy on canreef selling becket nozels a while ago so he may still hve one.

Well typically a beckett requires a pressure rated pump. so ideally an external type pump would work great. This skimmer is not HUGE so I think a mag 9 ish might work, but not great. So, like I said, a reasonable external pump would be best.

Hey Jonathan, do you have a picture of that skimmer? Do you think it could be modified for a needle wheel pump?
